shades of grey. . .

"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?” ~  Percy Bysshe ShelleyOde to the West Wind

Hydrangea Leaf In My Yard
September 2012

the grey engulfs her
taking away not only her shadow
but also her light hardheartedness
the world she awakes to these days
is void of natures kaleidoscope of color
it's as if the painter palette has lost its saturation
and in its place she finds only shades of grey
she comforts herself with warm tea and good books
but it is a restless comfort, and she is antsy
craving and awaiting the first signs of spring
and the freshness it will bring to her world once again

Sweet Monday,

  1. I can certainly relate to your words. Even though I don't get snowed in, I do get cabin fever. Lovely macro leaf.

  2. That is a lovely shot, very clear details! I often fail in taking raindrops!

  3. Lovely! Water drops are great because they are never the same.
